Additionally you can reach the regions capital Bozen easily (25 km away). Here are some of its attractions: The Messner Mountain Museum from the alpinist Reinhold Messner in the old walls of castle “Sigmundskron”, South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology ( Ötzi-Museum ) which houses the the iceman, Museion – a Museum for modern art.
Another attractive city is Meran ( 40 km away ), where you can visit the Touriseum and the botanical gardens of castle Trauttmansdorff, the thermal baths and the woman’s museum Meran.
Here are some ideas for day trips: To the Gardasee/lago di garda ( 120 km away ), the balcony of Romeo and Giulia at Verona ( 160 km away ), the beautiful lagoon city Venice ( 240 km away ).
The Christmas markets in Meran, Bozen, Brixen, Sterzing and Bruneck are always worth a visit.
